Just this week, major Nidal Malik Hassan went into Fort Hood and shot up the soldiers there. The outcome was that 13 solders were left dead and 30 wounded. The shooting happened in Texas and is the worst mass killing on a military base. A fellow officer said that Major Hassan had gotten in arguements with his own unit while on tour in Iraq for those who supported the war, because he wanted the troops to be pulled out. In the recent base shooting, 39-year old Hassan worked at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Hassan was under the attention of law enforcement officers when they found internet postings of sucide bombings and other threats, along with postings about soldiers who throw themselves on top of grenades to save the lives of the fellow comrades. The shooting began at 1:30 p.m. Central Time at the post's Soldier Readiness Center and Howze Theater. President Obama condemed the shooting at Fort Reed and has promised to provide full support to get to the bottom of this ivestigation.
